4xLabs is a fintech start-up headquartered in Singapore. The company develops cloud-based services addressing the needs of all players in the often overlooked cash exchange market. For money changers, our one-stop suite of services, Biz4x, improves topline, by helping them acquire new business, optimize their price setting, and scale their business; as well as bottomline, by improving efficiency, managing cost of stock, and facilitating compliance risk management. Through Biz4x, money changers can list their business and cash exchange rates on a directory called Get4x to access new customers. With Get4x, travellers can search for licensed money changers offering the best rates nearby for greater transparency, convenience, and security. Our tools improve the entire cash exchange industry by providing greater transparency and regulatory compliance.

OUR STORY

Ever find yourself being confounded by all the different exchange rates being offered by local money changers in different cities? You are not alone.

It’s hard to tell when money changers are quoting you a good, decent or bad rate, and even the Buy and Sell listings at the money changers can sometimes be confusing with the currencies being quoted in reverse order and different units. However, there’s no question that when it comes to exchanging a large sum of money, money changers are the most economical way to get the currency of your choice.

The experience of manually checking rate boards at different money changers can be extremely frustrating, which leaves one wondering where a price comparison platform for money changers is when you need one! It was to solve this common traveller’s problem that we created Get4x, an app that aggregates exchange rates from different money changers.

Get4x was officially launched in 2012, and soon gained more than 1,500 registered users, 3,000 free iPhone app downloads and millions worth of transactions within a few months of launch. Encouraged by this success, we grew the team to its current size with more than 20 employees across various geographies.

As we spent more time talking to and growing deep links within the money changer community, we realised that many of these money changers were still recording transactions on simple spreadsheets, dated software or worse, through ledger books! In a time of great innovation within all sectors, the money changer industry had been largely neglected by advances in modern technology. We set out to change this with the launch of Biz4x, an integrated SaaS platform for money changers that provides live FX rates, facilitates regulatory compliance, helps in managing the overall business and acquiring new customers.

With this all-in-one platform providing money changers with a full set of features their business requires, we were soon able to capture more than a third of the money changer market within a year. In March 2016, 4xLabs was officially incorporated as an umbrella brand for Get4x and Biz4x, and headquartered in Singapore.
